36 Maoists were killed in an encounter on Dantewada border in Chhattisgarh.



District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Special Task Force (STF) had launched anti-Maoist operation yesterday. According to sources, contact was made today at around 1.30 pm and talks are still going on.




In a major victory for the forces recently, thirty-six Maoists were shot and killed by security personnel today in a forest near the Narayanpur-Dantewada border in Chhattisgarh, according to sources.
The anti-Maoist operation was started by the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Special Task Force (STF) yesterday. According to sources, contact was made about 1:30 pm today, and the interaction is still ongoing.
According to sources, a number of assault rifles, including AK series models, and other weapons have been found.



Separate teams in the joint operation were dispatched to the villages of Govel, Nendur, and Thulthuli under the jurisdiction of Orcha and Barsur police stations yesterday in response to intelligence information indicating a significant Maoist presence. In these villages, they started conducting combing operations.

Today at midday, the confrontation started in the forests close to Nendur-Thulthuli. According to sources, the security forces are pursuing a small number of Maoists who have withdrew farther into the jungle while using extreme care.



One of the security forces' greatest victories in the battle against the Maoist insurgency in Chhattisgarh has come from this encounter.

Vishnu Deo, the chief minister of Chattisgarh, praised the security forces and called it a major operation.

"Naxalism is nearing extinction... There is no doubt that naxalism will be eradicated from the state. Naxalism would be eradicated by March 2026, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who has visited the state twice in the past nine months to address this issue, according to Mr. Deo.
